I am a philosopher working on German Idealism, Buddhist Philosophy, and epistemology in relation to these two traditions.

Currently, I am a visiting assistant professor in philosophy at the University of Texas at El Paso. I hold a PhD in philosophy from Boston University and a BPhil in philosophy from the University of Oxford. I have also been an academic visitor at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt and at Princeton University with the Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion.

I recently defended my dissertation on Kant's transcendental idealism, which you can learn more about here. In it, I argue that transcendental idealism should be understood as offering a radically anthropocentric metaphysics. My research interests also include (1) Kant's and Buddhist epistemology; (2) the idealism of Yogācāra Buddhism, especially as it is represented in Xuanzang's Cheng Weishi Lun; and (3) Hegel's political philosophy.

I was born and raised in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China, a city most famous for hosting the eastern end of the Great Wall. Outside philosophy, I am a serious cook of Chinese cuisine, and I enjoy playing tennis. I am a lifelong supporter of Arsenal.
